We're delighted to have three talented and different artists at this creative event. Sophie Lawther-Dunn, Peter Bailey and Rachel Vitolo will be painting at their easels while we enjoy a glass of wine, watch and chat. Always an insightful and sociable evening.

Haslemere's offical motto is Vita Musis Gratior which means Life springs from the arts. The Haslemere Art Society was founded in 1894 and has evolved into the thriving community of creatives it is today. It supports amateur and professional artists to help build community and bring together those making art of any kind, promoting interest in the visual arts for the residents of Haslemere and the surrounding area.
Our volunteers run a varied programme of workshops, demonstrations and talks with guest artists that are well-attended. The society also has regular groups that meet to create together. It seeks to support and bring together local creatives in painting, ceramics, glass, sculpture, textiles and many more.

Marty Farrer-Williams, HAS Chair and owner of Gallery Thirteen in Haslemere:
"When I moved up here in 2020, the Art Society was one of the first things I sought out and joined; the annual exhibition became my first in Surrey! I remember stewarding and how warm and welcoming everyone was to myself and my wife.
I have since established myself in the area, gaining some great contacts and a physical location in the heart of Haslemere with Gallery Thirteen. As soon as I became a member and then subsequently joined the committee, I could see the advantages of the Art Society and the Gallery working together. Both the Society and the Gallery are aligned in their goals to nurture and promote local arts and crafts.
I am hoping to be inclusive of everyone from amateurs who like to paint and chat, to professional artists wanting support to further their careers."
